The "Throw Up" Kitty Creamer

The famous "throw up" kitty in our family. Almost all of the siblings has one I believe. When we grew up we only had hot cereal for breakfast, like oatmeal or Malt 'O Meal, etc. (One of my sisters and I didn't know about cold cereal until we started school). Milk went in the kitty cream pitcher and we'd pretend the kitty was throwing up on our cereal ! Obviously we were easily amused -- but so are our own kids!

Because I'm a HUGE Nancy Drew fan, I must point out that she also has two vintage Nancy Drew books in her shop. Personally I'm glad I grew up with Nancy Drew and not the Twilight type books that are popular now - now sure why.

Old Fashion Glamour

What I wouldn't do to be able to wear this dress, and have a place to wear it. I was looking up vintage cocktail dresses when I ran across this beauty--just stunning!

Some days I wonder why I don't dress up more--lack of time or motivation? One of my grandmothers use to wear dresses daily, and always with a brooch or piece of jewelry, hose and sensible shoes, and she raised 3 boys! Yes, times have changed, but I'd like to believe that we can get back to that place again, as least some of time.

I just bought these earring for myself. Not only do I love the earrings, but I love the inspiration behind them. Let me share the story from the seller:

I hope you'll have patience for a moment before I describe these earrings. I am listing a few things today, July 3rd, in honor of my grandmother who died one year ago today at the age of 93. She was an early feminist and environmentalist. She was svelte and stylish and smart. She designed and made most of her own clothes. She was also an old-time cattle-woman and rancher. She mended fences and doctored cattle in the Neiman Marcus fur coat my grandad bought her every couple of years. She was generous, quiet, stoic and kind & taught me anything of any real importance that I know. The jewelry I'm listing today was made during the many days I sat & laughed & reminisced with her during her last year of life. ~in memory of Lois Pruett, April 3, 1914 - July 3, 2007
